MENEZES, Rita Menezes

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Menezes, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 3, 2026, in her 96th year.

Rita was born on April 8, 1930, in Georgetown, Guyana, to Elma and Joseph Menezes. She was one of thirteen siblings.

Rita was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother (Gigi).

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Cheryl (the late Andy) and Andre (Wendy); her grandchildren Melissa (Brian) and Vanessa (Brent); and her great-grandchildren James, Anna, and Ryker.

Everything Rita did was for her family. She had a kind heart, a gentle spirit, and a great sense of humour. Rita’s love, warmth, and presence will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be forever remembered, deeply missed, and loved.
