FAIR, Michael Allen Brett Fair

FAIR, Michael Allen Brett   – Born in Toronto, on April 23, 1930, son of Elizabeth Brett Fair and Allen Fair.

He attended University of Toronto Schools and University of Toronto and received a degree in medicine in 1953.

Michael began his medical career working in a family practise in Agincourt with Dr. O.E.A. Stephens in 1955.

He was associated with Scarborough General Hospital and was on the staff of the SGH Crockford wing. Michael married Elinor Shirley in 1955 and they enjoyed over fifty years of married life together until Elinor’s passing in 2010.

Michael was the beloved father of Kathryn Hyland (Ralph) and Diane James (Greg). He was a loving grandfather to Aaron James and Christopher James.

Michael will be greatly missed by his sister, Penelope Van Esterik (John); his niece, Chandra Van Esterik (Brent); and his step-grandchildren; and step-great-grandchildren. We would like to thank Scarborough Retirement Home for the great care Michael received over the years, as well as Scarborough General Hospital.

The family will receive friends at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. E., Agincourt, on Wednesday, June 21st, from 3–7 p.m. Funeral Service to be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 22nd, at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church Agincourt (4125 Sheppard Ave. E.). Interment at Little Lake Cemetery, Peterborough.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Scarborough Retirement Residence, Scarborough General Hospital or St. Timothy’s Anglican Church Agincourt, would be greatly appreciated.
