RUSSILL, Michael Joseph  –   It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Michael Joseph Russill, on July 4, 2023.

Mike passed away with his family by his side, after a 5-year battle with Cancer.

Mike was born on September 16, 1944, to Vincent and Yvonne Russill in Toronto.

Mike will be forever remembered by his loving wife and best friend, Karen; his son, Jeff; his daughters, Lindsay and Danielle; his children-in-law, Michelle, Simon and Jeff; and his grandchildren, Ardyn, Ellis, Evan, Quinn, Mabel and Harper. Mike also leaves behind his siblings, Joan, David and the late Billy.

Mike and Karen met on the Toronto Island ferry and were married for 54 years. After living in Nova Scotia they moved to Oakville, the town where they would spend the rest of their life together.

Mike believed his family was his strength and he expressed unconditional love and support of them.

Mike graduated from Ryerson University with a business degree and a distinguished career in the oil and gas industry followed.

A kind, generous, compassionate, humble and adventurous soul, Mike will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by the countless people he touched. His legacy is defined by how he was as a person, a husband and life partner to Karen, a father, a father-in-law, a grandpa, a friend, as well as a mentor in the roles he had during his successful career.

The family is deeply grateful for the loving care, efforts and kindness of the professional staff at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and the Cancer Care Center.

Mike’s Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lymphoma Cancer Research, Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
