YAROMY , Michael Samuel Yaromy
August 8, 2025
Passed away peacefully at the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice on August 8, 2025, in his 66th year. Predeceased by his beloved and courageous sister, Elizabeth Ann (“Lisa”), who passed away at the age of 14. Loving father of Eryn and Kelcie (Mikey), and devoted brother and lifelong friend of Cathy (Bob) and Mike Abbott (Diane).
Mike was a kind and hard-working soul who took immense pride in caring for his daughters and standing by his sister through life’s ups and downs. His loyalty, strength, and quiet generosity defined who he was. Throughout his life, he shared a deep bond with his beloved dogs, each one bringing him joy, companionship, and unconditional love.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Mike began his retail career at Sears in Ottawa, later moving to Canadian Tire in Nanaimo, BC. He spent the final 16 years of his working life at Canada Post, where he returned to Ontario and became a compassionate and fair supervisor at the Stittsville Depot—fondly remembered by many as “the best boss ever.”
Mike’s legacy is one of dedication, love, and laughter shared with family, friends, and colleagues.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Maria Bastin-Miller, Sidney Thomson (Home Hospice North Lanark), the entire care team at Ruddy Shenkman Hospice, as well as David Montgomery, Gale Proulx, and Wendy Younge for their unwavering kindness and support throughout Mike’s journey.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home (19 McArthur Ave, Carleton Place) on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
