Millar, William James (Jim) — Passed away peacefully at his residence in Cambridge, Ontario, under the loving care of his wife, on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the age of 78.

Born in Omagh, Northern Ireland in 1947, Jim immigrated to Canada in 1954 with his parents Willie and Edie, and his sisters Iris and Ann. The family settled in Goderich, where Jim later met his beloved wife Roberta (Robbie) Prest during high school.

He graduated from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and spent 37 years as the Senior NC Programmer at Babcock and Wilcox Nuclear Manufacturing Facility in Cambridge.

Jim retired early to enjoy managing his rural property and personal investments. A passionate and skilled bagpiper, originally taught by his father, Jim became Pipe Major of both the Cambridge and District Pipe Band and the Hespeler Legion Pipe Band, performing at many local events and parades.

Cremation has taken place. Donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society.
