MILLER , Thomas Earl Miller

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas Earl Miller, known lovingly as Earl, on July 10, 2025, at the age of 90.

Born at Lake Dore on April 28, 1935, to Pearl Green and Herb Miller, Earl lived a rich and remarkable life. He was never one to shy away from hard work or new experiences, but it was as a crane operator that he found his true calling. Earl went on to build a successful crane business in California, earning the deep respect of colleagues and employees through his dedication, leadership, and unwavering integrity.

In 1963, Earl married the love of his life, Bette Miller (nee Dennison). Together, they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage, raising their daughter, Shannon and later becoming proud grandparents to Jordan, Matthew, and Blake.

Earl’s fascination with cars and airplanes was lifelong—his passion enduring to the very end. Just four weeks ago, he delighted in purchasing a new car. As a friend of Bill W, Earl was a devoted mentor and source of strength to many in his community. His compassion, wisdom, and steady presence touched countless lives.

Earl will be remembered for his warm heart, resilient spirit, and gift for storytelling. To know Earl was to be invited into a tale—always told with heart and with a twinkle in his eye.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Bette, his brothers, Barry (Jean) and Jim (Mary), and his companion, Phyllis Clark. He is survived by his loving daughter, Shannon, his cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Matthew, and Blake, his sister, Eleanor (Jim), and many dear nieces, nephews, and friends.

Earl’s final care has been entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 11 am at St. James the Less Catholic Church, Eganville, followed by a reception in the parish hall.
