MINK, John Wilfred Mink
October 22, 1946 - January 15, 2026
Regrets and triumphs coalesce forming the legacy left behindβJohn lived his life with grace and dignity.
He was a devoted partner to Mardi, his wife of 58 years. He adored Lucy, his wiggly wheaten terrier as much as he did his many other dogs in days gone by. He will be missed by his sister-in-law, Lynn, and brother-in-law Fred. His nieces and nephews loved and respected him for all that he stood for.
He worked in the printing and binding industry as a salesman, an estimator and a manager.
In retirement he worked part time at Home Depot in Tool Rental and Hardware, doing what he loved best β helping people with whatever they needed or assisting with ideas and suggestions to make their projects a reality.
His life was full.
John was a skilled builder and enhanced his homes and his cottage with custom built-ins, fireplace mantels, and a remarkable summer house which became the focal point of his backyard.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles as a young man; he was a proud licenced pilot of small aircraft for many years; he was an avid outdoorsman and renewed his soul while quietly fishing the lake at the cottage or as far north as Great Bear Lake and the waters of Northern Ontario; John was a member of the Oshawa Skeet and Gun Club where he met the challenges of marksmanship with considerable skill; most recently he found pleasure in riding his electric bike on the local trails with his brother-in-law and cherished friends.
He was a good man.
He embraced lifeβs small joys.
His life was well lived.
