MOH-LUE , Stephanie Moh-Lue

On August 11, 2025 Stephanie Moh-Lue was reunited with her mom. The life she lived was full of love, laughter, hard work, strength and best friends. Steff’s battle against cancer was not a short or easy one.

In 2021 when first diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer, she said that she would eat a piece of sh*t if it made her feel better, and that is exactly what she did. 33 rounds of chemo, countless natural path appointments, endless research on new supplements and promising alternative treatments, like her trek to Georgia. However, this is not where her fight against cancer started. From when her mom passed away in 1992 Steff started her preventative measures. From Sunnybrook High Risk Cancer Screening, to making healthy lifestyle choices, to proactive medical procedures and telling everyone to love themselves and make good choices, Steff has been fighting this battle for the majority of her life. She did not fight this battle alone.

Steff grew up in Pickering, where she slowly started to build the community that she now has today. In grade 10 she moved to Ajax where she started at Ajax High School and spent the majority of her time working as a lifeguard for the city. At the city, she not only impacted the community, but she also opened up her friend card. Her 35 years at the town of Ajax was recently acknowledged when they lowered their flag to half mass to honour her impact. Steff was always resistant to opening up her friend card, which is ironic considering she has more friends than anyone reading this. Those who knew Steff knew her for her feisty, strong willed, caring, stand up for yourself personality. When asked to describe herself Steff would always reply with “I’m thoughtful, kind, generous and nice” which explains why Andrew and Steff were a perfect match when they met in 1998 where she caught the bouquet and her forever man in the same night. Shortly after that, they started their family and welcomed Taya,Ty and Milo. The family found their happy place on Heart’s Content Drive, on Salerno Lake. The cotty quickly became the gathering place where friends became family. From morning tea on the dock, to mid day lectures about sunscreen and lifejackets, to sunset paddle boarding, both 904 and the cotty welcomed everyone with open arms. At 904 there was rarely a quiet moment, whether it was the chaos of friends or Steff being on the phone.

Steff had a lot of personality traits that include bravery, strength, independence, determination, humor, and stubbornness. Steff’s confidence and competitiveness lives on through Ty, Steff’s resilience and loyalty lives on through Taya and Steff’s thoughtfulness and welcoming nature will live on through Andrew. Thankfully, her cooking and dancing skills will not live on through anyone, other than her handy hard boiled egg recipe. While this is just a snippet of Steff life, it makes it clear just how incredible Steff Moh-Lue really was.

We love you Steff, Mom, Wifey, Sister, Tante and the best friend anyone could ask for.
