MORA, Renzo Della Mora

April 28, 1933 - February 26, 2026
MORA, Renzo Della Mora

Passed away peacefully at Wentworth Lodge in Dundas on February 26, 2026 in his 93rd year. Renzo was a man of immense warmth, known for his infectious humour, friendly spirit and affectionate nature. Whether through a hug, a pat or a playful tickle, Renzo had a gift for making everyone feel loved.

Born in Italy, Renzo worked on a farm before immigrating to Canada in 1957. He worked as a bricklayer, sharing his craftsmanship generously, also building fireplaces and porches for those he loved. After marrying in 1963, he settled in Hamilton and worked at Firestone until his retirement.

Renzo’s life was defined by the love he gave and received. He shared 34 beautiful years with his first wife, the late Mary (nee D’Agostin), and was the adored father of Judy and Elizabeth (Peter). He was later blessed with 12 wonderful years with his second wife, the late Phyllis (nee Taylor), becoming a proud stepfather to Tom (Kathleen) Bachelder and a cherished Nonno to Taylor and Kiana. In his later years, he was fortunate to share his life and companionship with his close friend, Louise Canjar.

An active gardener and amazing cook, Renzo was a fixture in his neighborhood, —happily perched on his front deck, chatting with everyone who walked by.  He loved dogs and enjoyed Euchre, bocce, and dancing and socializing at the Sackville Seniors Club.

Renzo is reunited in heaven with his parents, Giuseppe and Elvira, and his brother Mario (Mercedes). He is deeply missed by his brothers Ado (Mirella) and Nello (the late Laura), and many nieces, nephews, and his dear circle of family and friends.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Wentworth Lodge, with special mention to Dr. Mazurek, Justine, Kayla, and Helen, for their kindness. And Father Charlie Galea for his continued friendship and spiritual support throughout the years.

Visitation will be held at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel (43 Barton St. E. Hamilton, ON) on Monday March 2, 2026 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday March 3, 2026 at 10 am.
