MORAIS, Ines Tavares Morais

Passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, at Stirling Heights Long Term Care, at the age of 92.

Ines is predeceased by her husband, Manuel Morais, of 44 years, their journey together has come to rest. Together, they nurtured a family that would become Ines’s pride and joy. She was the devoted mother of Madalena Melo, Aldina Lethbridge, Walter Morais, Cidalia Loura, Maria Swiryd, and Cindy Morais. Ines’s love multiplied with each addition to her family, becoming the cherished grandmother of Allan, Judy, Erik, Danny, Sandra, Tracy, Tammy, Lisa, Christina, Derek, Diane, Stephanie, Amanda, Laura, Jamie, Sam, Justin, Kearsten, and Kurt. Her blessings continued as she became the great-grandmother of 16, and a great-great-grandmother to one. Ines is survived by her dear sister Aldina Morais. Ines will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Ines is predeceased by her daughters Joana Chaves (2023) and Lucy Morais (1974), as well as her sister Maria Reis (2018).

Though Ines’s professional career was brief, having worked only a few months outside the home, she dedicated her life to the noble vocation of raising her family. She did her best to make her home an abode of warmth and care. She adored spending time with her family and watching them grow into the people they are today.
Ines’s interests were simple but filled with passion. She found joy in listening to music, a pleasure that often brought a serene smile to her face. Her hands were rarely idle, as she loved gardening and crocheting.

Ines’s Christian faith was the cornerstone of her existence. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she was deeply devoted to her beliefs and found great meaning within her spiritual community. The friendships she formed were deep and enduring, and she cherished the companionship from the values that brought them together.

Ines’ family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Stirling Heights Long Term Care for their compassionate care and support for Ines over the years spent there as well as keeping her comfortable in her final days.
