With heavy hearts, the family announces that Allan passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital – General Campus with loved ones by his side on Thursday evening, October 30, 2025.

He was 85 years of age.

Beloved husband and best friend of Dorcas (nee Desjardins) for over 64 years.

Dearly loved and proud Dad of Sherry Portt (Wayne) and Paula Denbow (Jason).

Cherished and forever Grandpa of Emily Portt (Juliette Marier), Olivia Portt (David McConnell), Anna Denbow (Nolan Tonn) and Eyvi Denbow (Leeza Goldberg).

Dear brother of Shirley Woods (late Bob).

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, former co-workers and great friends.

Son of the late Elmer and Helen (nee Ring).

Allan was a devoted husband and partner to Dorcas and a doting Dad to his girls and their families.

He was a longtime dedicated employee of Cavanagh Construction.

He earned a stellar reputation as a meticulous heavy equipment operator.

His commitment to excellence was known far and wide within his industry.

He took pride in teaching many who have gone on to fulfilling careers within his trade.

Allan was also known as a quiet yet dependable source of knowledge and wisdom.

His genuine kindness and interest in others will be missed by his family and the many friends he leaves behind.

Allan’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the

Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior

where visitation will take place on Saturday morning, November 8^th from 9:30 to 10:45.

A Service in memory of Allan will be held in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11 o’clock followed by a reception.

Interment Malloch Road Cemetery.

In Allan’s memory, a donation to CHEO or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by his family.
