James Edward ‘Jim’ Morphy of Palmerston, passed away at Palmerston Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family, on Sunday, August 31, 2025, in his 78th year.

Husband of the late Verna (Bridge) Morphy who passed away on September 27, 2020. Loving father of Jamie Morphy & Treasure Kauppila of Stouffville, Sherry & Rob Burr of Cambridge, and Shelley & Chad Campbell of Palmerston.

Proud grandfather of Riley Burr & Emma Kuchma, Tanner Burr, Kaden Burr, Tailor & Frankie Farrell, and Tucker Campbell & Erin Collins. Brother-in-law of Debra & Bob Wanless of Holland Centre, and remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Ralph and Mary (Poirier) Morphy, parents-in-law Ross and Grace Bridge, sister Barb Schwartzentruber, sister-in-law Judy Thackeray.

Visitation will be held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston, on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Palmerston United Church on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. The funeral will be livestreamed and the link available here shortly.

Emergency service personnel are encouraged to wear their dress uniform. Reception to follow at the Palmerston Legion. Interment in Palmerston Cemetery.
