NASO, Fred Naso

Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on November 6, 2025, at the age of 67. He is survived by his devoted wife Karen of 43 years; son Victor (Julia); daughter Amanda (Deepak); loving mother Teresa; brother Richard (Wing); and cherished grandchildren Tyler, Sienna, and Bree. He was predeceased by his father, Vittorio.

Proud of his roots in East Van, where he lived his entire life, Fred attended Begbie Elementary, Vancouver Tech (Class of 1976), and UBC Electrical Engineering (Class of 1981). Fred used his analytical mind and practical problem-solving skills in a career spanning sales engineering and IT, working for Allen Bradley (4 years), Rockwell Automation (21 years), and Houle Electric (4 years) before retiring to cruise the world and, later, to spend treasured time with his grandchildren.

Always there to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors, Fred proudly wore his t-shirt that read, “If Papa can’t fix it, we’re all screwed.” Whether it was repairing a leaky faucet, troubleshooting a computer issue, or simply offering a word of advice, Fred was everyone’s go-to guy. His quiet generosity, steady patience, and knack for finding a solution to almost anything left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 16 at 11 a.m. at the Italian Cultural Centre in Vancouver.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred’s memory may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation at http://donate.bccancerfoundation.com/goto/frednaso
