Stefania Naterer, age 91, of Whitby, Ontario passed away on July 23, 2025. Beloved wife of Franc (predeceased). Loving mother of Greg and his wife Josephine, and Marko and his wife Yvonne. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Julia, Veronica, Monika, Isabel, Gabriella and Jordan (predeceased).

Born in 1933 in Struge, Slovenia (the former Yugoslavia), Stefania’s youth was marked by severe hardships following the devastating World War II under Communist control. Rather than letting these challenges control her future, instead she embraced the values instilled in her by her parents – a hard work ethic, faith, ambition, self-discipline, and resilience.

Responding to a call for help from her sister in Canada, she arrived in Peterborough, Ontario, in 1959. Then through a connection by a Slovenian friend in Oshawa, Ontario, she met and soon married the love of her life, Franc. Together they raised two sons, who grew up to be successful with their own happy families.

Stefania will be remembered for her moral strength, selflessness, grace, and unconditional love of her family. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and swimming. Rest in peace, Mom, for you will be forever in our hearts.

Resting at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King St. W. Oshawa with visitation on Tuesday July 29, 2025, from 5-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 214 Simcoe St. N. Oshawa on Wednesday July 30, 2025, at 10:30 am. Reception to follow. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Whitby.
