NGUYEN, Thi Bich Nguyen
October 10, 1955 - December 20, 2025
was born on October 10, 1955, in Quảng Ninh, Vietnam, where she was known as the most beautiful girl of the small fishing port. She passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, surrounded by her children and husband.
In 1975, she married Nguyễn Văn Đông. Together they built a life centered on family and perseverance. She was a loving mother to five children: Thuy, Ngoc, Nam (Breanne), Long (Phuong), and Hồng-Anh. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Kolton, Kaia, and Leah, whom she cared for with endless patience and love.
The third oldest of seven children, mom was predeceased by her parents Bui Dinh Thang and Duong Thi Nga and her brother Bui Dinh Sang (Qui). She leaves behind many siblings, nieces, and nephews, both in Canada and in Vietnam, who will cherish her memory.
In 1982, in search of a better future for her children, she bravely fled Vietnam and became one of the “boat people,” spending time in a Hong Kong refugee camp before eventually being sponsored to come to Canada. She later made her home in St. Thomas, where she lived a humble and quiet life. She found joy in farming, fishing, and playing Bingo, and was known for her gentle presence and casual take on life, never in a rush no matter the situation .
She rarely complained and was considered the quiet one—unless she was defending her family. A natural caregiver, she devoted her life first to raising her children and later to nurturing her grandchildren. She treated everyone as if they were her own and will be deeply missed by family and friends both here and in Vietnam.
Visitation will be held at Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Saturday, December 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
