It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Peggy Anne Nicholl aged 87, on Monday, July 21, 2025, after a long battle with heart and kidney disease. Peggy Anne was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1937. She began working for the Red Cross as an office administrator until she moved to Uxbridge, Ontario where she raised her family. She worked at Canadian Tire, was a real estate agent, worked at St. John’s and The Hobby Horse Arms as a cook before she retired. Upon retirement, she nestled into the Maple Glen apartments located in Sunderland, Ontario where she enjoyed all the potluck dinners with the other residents, completing puzzles, her gardening and her having a quiet place to relax including on her front patio.
Peggy Anne is survived and deeply missed by her children, Blair, Craig, and Robyn (Joe) Fera; and her five grandchildren, Damon, Shayln, Joey Fera, Matthew Fera, and Antonio Fera. She will also be missed by her long time childhood friend Maureen Robertson and her cousin Gail (Ralph) Fairman. We would also like to thank Sandra Nicholl (late Len Nicholl) for their continued support. She has now joined other members of her family along with her companion cat Archie who she also loved so very deeply. She was always smiling and happy to see everyone and always willing to help anyone with pleasure if she could or had the means to do so. She always had an ear for listening and trying to help the other person out. She loved her local Sunderland community and participated in local activities.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Port Perry Lakeridge Hospital, Oshawa Lakeridge Hospital for their compassionate care of Peggy Anne. We would also like to extend thanks to all her friends and residents at Maple Glen apartments.
We invite you to celebrate Peggy Anne’s life with family and friends at Low & Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge on Thursday July 31st at 1pm, with visitation to commence at 12pm. Reception to follow.
As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, you are welcome to make a donation to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, or The Kidney Foundation of Canada. Friends are invited to send condolences or make donations by visiting www.lowandlow.ca.
