NIKIEL, Szymon Adam Nikiel

Passed away on October 3rd, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure. Born on December 23rd, 1982, in Zywiec, Poland, Szymon moved to Ajax, ON, at the age of 11 and spent most of his life in the Durham Region/Clarington Area, touching the hearts of everyone he met.

Szymon was a talented individual. He excelled in landscaping and loved working with motorized vehicles, spending countless hours in the garage fixing and fine-tuning dirt bikes, cars, trucks, and his beloved Subaru, affectionately known as his “girlfriend.”

Szymon’s adventurous spirit led him to pursue various outdoor passions, including ice racing, ATV riding, dirt biking, and side-by-side adventures, fueling his need for speed. He also cherished fishing, a lifelong hobby that brought him peace and tranquility on the water. Most recently, Szymon discovered a new thrill in Go-Karting, taking pride in setting records and enjoying panzerotti’s while doing it.

Szymon’s kind heart and generosity inspired those around him. He was selfless and would give anyone the shirt off his back. He had a gift for making others smile and his laugh was contagious. Szymon had many accomplishments in his life; but his two greatest achievements were his two daughters, Avery and Zoey, who will miss him dearly but carry his memory and legacy with them always.

Szymon is survived by his loving family, including his mother, Grazyna; father, Henryk; brother, Tomasz; and family members Caroline, Tuscan, and Baya, and his two daughters, Avery and Zoey. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. There will be a memorial service held for Szymon on Friday, October 24th at 1:30pm at Courtice Funeral Chapel.
