NIKLAUS, Beat Niklaus

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Beat Niklaus on January 16th, 2026 in his 92nd year. As Beat departed this life, his daughter Debby held his hand in hers, and he was completely wrapped in love. Beloved husband of the late Edith. Dearly missed by his companion Olga. Cherished father to Peter (Jane), Charlie (Pauline), Walter, Heidi (Steve), and Debby (Tony). Dear “Pops on the farm” to Michael, Christopher, Jennifer, Nicole, Emily, Nick, Darryl, Shannon, Shaun, Kyle, Travis, Brandy, Eric and David. Much loved great-grandfather to Jordan, Osborne, Kaylee, Ethan, Aiden, Evan, Noah, Nathan, Ellie and Blakely. Loved brother to Walter (Elsbeth), and Urs (Irene) pre-deceased by sister Agnes. Beat will be lovingly remembered for his strong work ethic, his grand love for his apple and pear trees. Though life took him far from home, his love for Switzerland never faded. The family wishes to extend a thank you to the “special” staff at Glen Hill Strathaven that cared for Dad over the years. Friends and family are invited to gather for a visitation on Friday, January 23rd, 2026 at NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow. A private family interment will take place at Bond Head Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada
