NORMAN, Doris Louise Scott Norman
January 1, 1938 - June 15, 2025
Peacefully, after a brief illness, Doris Louise Scott Norman passed away at Stedman Community Hospice in Brantford, Ontario, on Sunday, June 15, 2025, just three months before her 99th birthday.
Doris was the beloved wife for over 46 years to the late Scotty (Wm. Foster) Scott (1994). She was a loving mom to Louise (Steve Leighfield), Carol (Dave), Sandra (Don), and Glenn (Laura). Doris was also cherished by her grandchildren Rachael, and many great-grandchildren.
Born in Paris, Doris was predeceased by her siblings Horace, Frank, Chris, and Eileen. She will be dearly missed by her surviving sister Joan White and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Doris was an avid 5-pin bowler and enjoyed her Christmas traditions, such as waking up at 12:01 am to open presents. She loved baking banana bread and chocolate chip cookies for Scotty and Rachael. Doris was also an enthusiastic bridge player, a lover of cryptic crosswords, and a passionate reader, particularly enjoying cozy murder mysteries.
Music played an important role in Doris’ life, from singing with touring Big Bands in the late 1930s and 1940s to enjoying classical music and opera. She had a deep connection to her family and to the community of Paris, where she and Scotty moved in 1953.
A private family celebration of Doris’ long and fulfilling life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the JDRF (Breakthrough TD1), Stedman Community Hospice, or the VON would be appreciated.
