OAKE, Randy Jarrett – With heavy hearts the family announces that Randy passed away at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2025. He was 42.

Beloved son of Collen Scott and the late Randy Oake Sr. (Sheila). Dear brother of Jason (Brandi). Special nephew of Cliff Scott (late Heather Raycroft), Karen Scott, David Scott, Brett Oake (Donna), Kay MacDonald (Wayne), Roger Oake (Karen), and Loren Oake.

Cherished uncle of Jason Oake (Nga) and Boston Oake, and great-uncle of Ares and Theo. Randy is also survived by his grandmother, Evelyn Oake (nee Wiseman) (late Edgar).

Predeceased by his niece Jaiela Oake, his nephew Conner Oake, his uncle Robert Scott (Elsa), and his aunt Faye Traversy (Brian).

Fondly remembered by many extended family members and friends.

Randy struggled with ill health for many years. In spite of his issues, he tried to make the best of every day. For the past several years, he and his mom were familiar faces at Prior Things on John Street in Arnprior and could often be found greeting potential customers and “browzers” as they entered the store to explore and discover unique and often sought after treasures.

The past few months have been particularly challenging for Randy as he was unable to get out and socialize as he always liked to. Trusting he is free from the pain of his illness, we trust he has found Randy Sr., his late friend Robert “Bert” Phillips, his niece Jaiela, and the many who’ve gone before him. He will be missed.

Special and heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Arnprior Hospital who took such great care of Randy during his extended stay there. Your love, kindness and patience will not be forgotten.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service to be held at the Scott Family Plot in the Albert Street Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon, August 26th at 2 o’clock.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Pilon Family Funeral Home.
