GILKER, Olga Elsie ‘Ollie’ Gilker

GILKER, Olga Elsie ‘Ollie’ (nee TITTLEMIER)  –  Olga was born March 14, 1922, in Leader, Saskatchewan and passed away on July 15, 2023, in Etobicoke, Ontario.

Cherished wife of the late FL. Raymond Clifford Ridge of the RCAF, who passed away on March 8, 1945 during the Second World War.

Olga then shared 33 years of marriage to the adored Douglas Alfred Gilker until his passing in 1983.

Much loved mother of Grant Gilker (Georgina) of St. Catherine’s and Murray Gilker of Toronto.

Cherished grandmother to her dear grandsons, Steven and Brian. Olga was predeceased by her siblings, Tina Anns, Dora Thomas and Ruth Langdale.

Olga will be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, and her multitude of friends.

Olga was raised in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the St. James United Church for 30 years and is a current member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church.

She was a prior member of the Weston Golf and Country Curling League, and enjoyed playing golf with the Islington Golf Club Senior Ladies Group.

Olga also enjoyed knitting and Bunka in her spare time.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 2379 Lake Shore Blvd. W., Etobicoke, ON, on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial of ashes will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
