OLIVEIRA, Maria Bernardo Oliveira

Maria Bernardo passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Brierwood Gardens in Brantford, at the age of 93.
Maria’s legacy is carried on through her beloved family. She was the loving mother of Lucy Derouchie (Tiny), Fatima Hammerschlag (Richard), and Messias Bernardo (Linda). Her warmth and wisdom will forever be remembered by her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.

Maria now joins her dear husband, Messias Bernardo, in eternal rest, and is predeceased by her parents Jose and Eliza Oliveria, as well as her brothers, Jose Oliveria and Manuel Oliveria. She is survived by her brother Tony Oliveria and lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
For 27 years, Maria dedicated herself to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, where she worked in long term care.
A private service will be held, and Maria will be laid to rest next to her husband, Messias, in Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family and may be made payable by cheque or following the link below.
