O’MARA , Diana Lynn O’Mara

At London Health Science Centre, on Tuesday August 19, 2025, Diana Lynn O’Mara, at the age of 74 years. Born in Chatham in 1951, daughter of the late Louise Helen (Whaling) and Gerald McClymont.

Beloved wife of Dennis O’Mara. Loving mother of Brian (Erika) O’Mara and Kelly O’Mara (Michael Hurren). Cherished nana of Owen, Edison and Rooney. Dear sister of Sue (Mike) Grant, Dennis McClymont, Jim (Irene) McClymont, and Bob (Rose) McClymont.

Mom lived a life of service to her family, many friends, and community. She cared deeply about women and children, and was a founding member of the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre, serving on the board from 1980–1987, and acting president from 1985–1986. Mom was also an entrepreneur, co-founding a court reporting business in Chatham where she worked every day until her retirement.

She was a baker, a gardener, a nana, a mom, an aunt, a friend, and so much more. She made every moment fun and magical. What most people will remember about Mom is her thoughtful and caring nature – and that she was always up for a glass of chilled white wine on the porch.

Friends and relatives may visit at the Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home Ltd., 156 William St. S., Chatham from 2–4 pm and 6–8 pm on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church. Cremation will follow the Mass.

Donations to the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre or the Alzheimer’s Society of Chatham-Kent would be appreciated.

The family would like to thank the incredible staff in the Cardiac ICU at London Health Sciences Centre for their dedicated care and kindness.
