OSBORN, Brian Douglas Osborn

Passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease on Sunday October 5, 2025

at the age of 83. Loving husband and best friend of Beverley for over 60 years.

Cherished father of Brynlea Barbeau (Mike) and their children Michaela (Jake

Bergamin), Cameron, Cole, Rhiannon, Sophie and Genevieve (Sault Ste. Marie);

Shaelyn Osborn (Wayne Huff) and their children Tayten, Tyler and Ethan; and Jillian

Osborn (Jamie Elliott) and her children Jaida, Cailyn and Sloan Neeve. Brian is survived

by his sisters Brenda Winter and Donna Sanderson, niece and nephews Erica, Derrick

and Jesse Sanderson, and by brother-in-law Ted Fennell (Jan).

A lifelong learner and educator, Brian graduated from Pauline Johnson Collegiate, then

furthered his education at Hamilton Teachers’ College, Wilfrid Laurier University, and

Niagara University. He dedicated 34 years to teaching with the Grand Erie District

School Board, where he was respected and admired by colleagues and students alike.

Beyond the classroom, Brian lived life to the fullest. He was a proud member of the

Brant Men of Song for 59 years, sharing his love of music and fellowship. His passions

and pursuits were many—whether sailing in Port Dover, cycling, kayaking, cross

country skiing, fishing, or riding his motorcycle, Brian embraced every adventure with

energy and enthusiasm. He earned his black belt with the Wado-Ryu Karate Club and

was also an avid and skilled swimmer, photographer, and rugby player. He was an

active member of St. Andrew’s United Church and Brantford Probus. In all his activities

he enjoyed the comradery with others and created lifelong friendships.

Above all, Brian will be remembered for his boundless love, his sense of humor, and his

unwavering dedication to his family. He enjoyed a good cup of coffee, a cold beer, the

outdoors, and fishing with his sons-in-law in Batchewana Bay. He found joy in every

moment, especially those spent with his grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. A celebration of

Brian’s life will be held in July 2026 for friends and family with details to follow.
