OSBORNE, Jean Almira Osborne

Jean passed peacefully in her 93rd year on November 30, 2025. Family and faith defined Jean’s life, always remembering with fondness her time on the farm with her 10 siblings. She proudly referred to herself as a “farmer’s daughter”, and loved doing chores outdoors well into her 90’s. A woman of many talents – baker, quilter, singer, and master Crokinole player. She always made time for coffee and sweets with friends, and cinnamon buns with her grandchildren.

Church filled Jean’s heart, often sharing with excitement the inspiration she heard weekly from the sermon.

Jean’s commitment to her community was evident in her volunteer roles with Meals on Wheels, Backseat Drivers, and her church. Jean was a steadfast blood donor, having reached the 100+ giving status years ago.

Jean’s family is very grateful for the many caregivers, friends, and family whose support enabled her to live a rich life at home, and more recently, in care. It meant so much to Jean to be at her home, on the farm, with wonderful memories of a life well lived.

In memory of Jean, please smile each day knowing that she is singing with Murray right now.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Trulls Road Free Methodist Church (2301 Trulls Road South, Courtice) on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Bowmanville Hospital Foundation or a charity of choice.
