With deep sadness, we share the news of the sudden but peaceful passing of Diane Paddon on May 6, 2025 at her home in Toronto, Ontario.
Diane was the dearly loved sister of Judy Neal and Rick Paddon (Donna) and was predeceased in 2022 by her much-loved brother Neal Paddon (Hazel). She is survived by nieces and nephews David Washburn and Kate, Sarah and Ashley Paddon, and several great-nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered by her many friends and former colleagues.
A gentle and gregarious soul, Diane was an extrovert who thrived on helping others, especially the children of close friends and family. She was known for her sense of humour and grace under pressure. Diane loved to travel and recently retired from a career in the travel and hospitality field. A voracious reader and avid supporter of Toronto’s literary scene, she deeply loved ‘big water’ and especially enjoyed beach time and harbour cruises with her sister or close friends on warm summer days.
In accordance with her wishes, her final sail will take place on a Freshwater Farewell cruise, where her ashes will be committed to the depths of the lake she loved so much.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations in her memory may be made to the Out of the Cold program at St. Andrew’s Church (standrewstoronto.org).
