PAIANO, Brigida Libera Paiano

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brigida Paiano (nee Malatesta) on Friday, December 26, 2025, in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Giovanni. Loving mother of the late Nicola (Maria Grazia) and Anna (Salvatore) Pirrera. Proud Nonna to Jonathan (fiancée Mackenzie), Angelo, Giulia, Marisa and Sophia. Predeceased by her parents and in-laws Antonio and Angela Malatesta and Nicola and Filomena Paiano, by her siblings, Rosa Pietrangelo (late Carmine), Teresa Pietrangelo (late Michele), Giuseppina Perfetto (late Carmine), Carmine (late Nicolina), Vincenzo (Eleonora), and Pasquale (late Addolorata). Survived by her sister in law Antonietta Pitoscia (late Gennaro) and many nieces and nephews in Canada, the U.S.A. and Italy.
Brigida worked for many years at Allan Candy and always put the needs of her family first. She was an avid gardener and loved to cook family meals. Special thanks to Drs. Lagrotteria, Bayshore, the VON the palliative care team and Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice for their compassionate care.
Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Tuesday December 30, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 63 Highway 20 East, Stoney Creek on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 9:30 am. Interment Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice (Kemp Care Network) would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
