PAQUETTE , Gaston Paquette

It is with deep love and immense gratitude for a life well lived that the family of Dr. Gaston Paquette announces his peaceful passing on August 19, 2025, at the age of 95.

Born in Azilda to the late Bérangère and Joseph Télésphore Paquette, Gaston was the youngest of seven children. He is predeceased by his siblings Charles-Édouard (Gisèle), Fernand (Jeannine), Marie-Claire (Richard), Gérard, and Jean-Jacques. He is lovingly remembered by his sister Colombe and sisters-in-law Aline, Linda, and Thérèse Gosselin.

Beloved husband of Janine Paquette (née Pêtre), with whom he shared 65 years of a wonderful life filled with family and lifelong friendships.

Gaston made his home in Sudbury, where he practiced dentistry for 42 years. Known for his gentle manner, steady hands, and exceptional dedication, he made a lasting impression on generations of patients.

He had a deep love for the outdoors—particularly hunting and fishing—and took great pride in his woodworking skills. His joy was most complete when surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

Proud father of Danielle (Mike), Lucie (Gerry), Josée (Daniel), Sylvain (Colleen), and Mireille (Yvan). Cherished grandfather to Janine (Richard), Mathieu (Monika), Michelle (Tim), Véronique (Kevin), Caroline (James), Stéfan (Jasmin), Patrick (Rachel), Nicolette (Blase), Liam (Sydney), Pascale-Anne (Ryan), Eric, Samuel (Vikki), Phillipe, and Joël. Adored great-grandfather to Ella, Chloé, Lennon, Freddie, Aubrey, Wells, and Lola.

A man of quiet strength, humility, and steadfast devotion, Gaston will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and warm humor.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd., Sudbury, on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St-Jean-de-Brébeuf Church, Sudbury.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Maison McCulloch Hospice or Operation Smile Canada would be greatly appreciated—causes very dear to Gaston.
