PAQUETTE, Michelle Paquette

It is with heavy hearts, yet comforted by many fond memories, that the family announces the passing of Michelle Paquette on December 22, 2025, at the age of 81. A long-time resident of Vankleek Hill, she passed away peacefully, leaving behind the legacy of a woman of great kindness.

She has gone to join her beloved husband, Lucien Paquette, with whom she shared a life of love and companionship, as well as her parents, Émile Périard and Gabrielle Lamarche (Périard-Desjardins).

Michelle will be remembered as a deeply caring woman, always ready to offer a comforting thought or wise advice. Her nimble hands, which knew so well how to make the earth bloom and how to weave yarn into beautiful knitting and crochet projects, brightened the lives of all who knew her. A nature lover at heart, she found serene joy in birdwatching—a reflection of her own gentle spirit.

Her legacy of tenderness will live on through her children, Gabrielle (Patrick Pharand) and Jean-Luc (Marie-Claude Perreault), as well as her grandchildren, who were her greatest pride: Cédric, Arthur, and Jonathan.

She also leaves a great void in the hearts of her brothers and sisters: Yves-André (Ginette), Denis (late Nicole, Suzanne), Claire (André), Cécile (Serge), and Ghislaine (Yvon). She will be dearly missed by her brother-in-law Marcel (Marie), her sister-in-law Lucienne (Bill), many nephews, nieces, cousins, and her dear friends: Christianne, Richard and Rosanne, Maddo, Line, and Julie.

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to everyone who offered support over the past year. A special thank you is extended to the staff at the Hawkesbury General Hospital for their kindness and the exceptional quality of care provided.

In accordance with her wishes, a private celebration will be held in the spring—a time when the nature she loved so much awakens—at the St-Grégoire Cemetery in Vankleek Hill, Ontario.
