PARDEY , Maria “Mary” Pardey (née Busvek)

Of St. Thomas, ON, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, on Friday, August 22, 2025. She was in her 95th year.

Born in Sarajevo, (Bosnia-Herzegovina) in the former Yugoslavia, on January 28, 1931. She was a daughter of the late Anthony and late Katarina “Katherine” (née Drmac) Busvek. Mary came to Canada with her family in 1949. She worked at Therm-O-Disc (Canada), St. Thomas until her retirement. Mary was of the Roman Catholic faith. Beloved wife for 52 years to the late Jack Pardey (2005). Loving mother of Debbie Walters and her husband Mark of St. Thomas. Much loved granny of Michael Walters of Newmarket, ON and Erin Broadbent and her husband Corey of St. Thomas. Much loved great gran of Alexandra and Jack Walters, and Jane, Thomas, and George Broadbent. Dear sister of Karlo Busvek (late Janet), Frank Busvek, late Rudy Busvek (late Maria), and the late Helen Schlotter (late Conrad). Also sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, and their families.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Private internment will be made in Holy Angels’ Cemetery. If so desired, please consider a memorial donation to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation.
