PARENT, Wm. Reg Parent

Peacefully Reg passed away at WRHN – Chicopee (formerly Grand River Hospital, Freeport Campus) on December 20, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Laura; sons Craig and Scott (Michelle); seven grandchildren; sister Cathy Sweezy (Marty). He was predeceased by his son Lee.

Born in Kirkland Lake, Reg moved to Kapuskasing to work at Spruce Falls for 34 years as a Machinist and later as an Instrument Mechanic, afterwards retiring to Waterloo, Ontario. His exceptional mechanical skills supported his many hobbies, and ‘Regbilt’ was known well within close circles.

An avid sportsman, Reg enjoyed downhill and cross-country skiing, tennis, fastball, hockey, and hockey officiating.

A self-professed car-guy, Reg could be found maintaining cars and restoring his sportscar, and gladly helping neighbours whenever needed. He will be missed by many.

As per his wishes, no service will be held and cremation has taken place. ©
