Our world grew quieter on October 27, 2025, as we said goodbye to a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

Darlene Bye (nèe Dale) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the age of 74 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

Beloved Wife of 57 years to David Bye. Above all, Darlene’s greatest joy came from raising their daughters Tricia Bye (Tod), Tracy Bye, and Trudy Bye (Terry). Her love only grew with the arrival of her four Grandchildren: Billy-joe Bye (Bailey), Kylie McLeish (Andrew), Jonathon Gareau (Hiliary), and Bobby Bye (Kristen).

A cherished Great-Grandma to Livia, Aubree, David, Late Bentley, Grace, Nora, Abby, Nathan, Kolten, and Alyana – each who she loved dearly.

Predeceased by her parents, Evan and Noreen Dale. We take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her great -grandson, Bentley, her “little blue-eyed baby”, as she always said.

Lovingly remembered by her siblings Terry Zorzi (Peter), Judy Donofrio, Rickey Dale (Margo), and Bobby Moss (Judy). She will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are welcome to gather for a celebration of Darlene’s life on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at The Moose Lodge (543 Trunk Road, SSM).

The family would like to thank the Home Care team who provided such compassionate care to Darlene at home, the staff on 3C and 3B at Sault Area Hospital for your support and kindness, and to Goulais Fire and Rescue.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Darlene’s name to the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste Marie and Algoma District (payable online or by cheque).
