McGUIRE, Patricia  –

April 13, 1924 – December 4, 2023

We announce, with sadness, the passing of our mother in her 100th year. She died in her home, with her family by her side. It was peaceful.

She is at rest with her Lord and those whom she loved who preceded her, including her husband, Allan Douglas (a news editor at The Toronto Star) who died in 1984.

Here is a short list of who stayed back, with love and honour for her. Mother of Lee and Shirley (Guitar); Mark; Patricia and Kenneth Taylor; Susan; Willieann and Philip Laven; Allan; Molly; and Kelly (deceased 1977).

Grandmother of Dylan and Jody (nee Swift); Daniel and Karly (nee Klinkoff); Kenneth Taylor; Katrina Taylor (deceased 2020); Simon Laven; and Emily (nee Laven) and Kevin Griffiths. Great-grandmother of Aiden and Ian; Liam; Jenna, Jesse and Ethan Taylor – de Beau; and, Zia and Elodie Griffiths. Sister of Elizabeth of Viragh of Kent, England.

McGuire Clan: sister-in-law to Paul McGuire of Schomberg, ON, and Susan McGuire of Montreal, QC. Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Friend loved and loving. If you want to do something in Mom’s memory, let those you are in a relationship with know that you love them. She would want you to be kind to yourself, and believe that you are always loved.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, a contribution to SickKids Hospital would be appreciated.

Visitation will be held at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham, on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Parish Roman Catholic Church, 91 Church St., Schomberg, on Saturday. December 9, 2023. at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
