PATTERSON, Evelyn Howard Bailey Patterson
March 2, 1935 - April 11, 2025
Evelyn Bailey passed from this life to her eternal home in heaven on April 11, 2025 at her residence in Mariposa Gardens, Osoyoos, BC, at the age of 90.
Born on March 2,1935 in Rodney, Ontario, she was the youngest of four children of the late Archie and Carrie (Goodbrand) Howard.
Beloved wife of Donald George Patterson (1987) and George Douglas Bailey (2004). Loving Mother of Cheryl Lynn Dawson (1999).
She was predeceased by her sister Ruth Humphrey and husband Frank; brothers Harold Howard and wife Winnifred, and Victor Howard and wife Olive.
Evelyn leaves behind her daughter Janice Clarke (Ken), son-in-law Bill Dawson, and grandchildren Eric, Carrie, Lisa, Scott (Tiffany), Andrea (Jason),
along with four great-grandchildren: Riley, Noah, Luke, and Charlie. She was a cherished Wife, Mother, and Grandmother,
and a blessing to her extended family, including many nieces and nephews.
Although working as a long-distance operator and in various other roles throughout her life,
she was devoted to her family and her faith. A long-time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Chatham, Ontario,
Evelyn faithfully served her Lord, church, and community. Music, baking, gardening, sewing, crocheting,
and spending time with family and friends brought her great joy.
In 2010, her move to Osoyoos, BC brought her closer to family. She remained comfortable and content even as her health declined.
She was a source of happiness and joy to those who knew her.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. M. DeVries and the staff at Mariposa Gardens for the compassionate care Mom received.
While she will be greatly missed, we rejoice in knowing she is free of suffering and at home in the presence of Jesus her Saviour.
A graveside service will be held at Rodney Cemetery on June 14, 2025, at 11:30 am. A light lunch will follow at Arn Funeral Home, Rodney, 212 Furnival Road.
