Evelyn Bailey (née Patterson) passed from this life to her eternal home in heaven on April 11, 2025, at her residence in Mariposa Gardens, Osoyoos, BC, at the age of 90.

Born in Rodney, Ontario, Evelyn was the youngest of four children to the late Archie and Carrie (Goodbrand) Howard. She was the beloved wife of Donald George Patterson (1987) and later of George Douglas Bailey (2004). Loving mother of the late Cheryl Lynn Dawson (1999), and Janice Clarke (Ken), and mother-in-law to Bill Dawson.

Cherished grandmother of Eric, Carrie, Lisa, Scott (Tiffany), and Andrea (Jason), and great-grandmother to Riley, Noah, Luke, and Charlie. Predeceased by her sister Ruth Humphrey (Frank), brothers Harold Howard (Winnifred) and Victor Howard (Olive), and brother Doug (Mary-Ann).

Evelyn was a devoted family woman and an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Chatham, Ontario. She joyfully served her church and community, and was passionate about music, baking, sewing, gardening, crocheting, and time with loved ones. In 2010, she relocated to Osoyoos, BC, to be closer to family.

The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Dr. M. DeVries and the staff at Mariposa Gardens for their compassionate care.

A graveside service will be held at Rodney Cemetery on June 14, 2025, at 11:30 a.m., with a light lunch to follow at Arn Funeral Home, 212 Furnival Road, Rodney.
