MAINGOT, Paul Joseph Maingot

Entered eternal rest, at the age of 91, on February 9, 2024.

Paul was born in Ottawa to Dorothy Glynn Gallagher and Albert Joseph Maingot, the 7th of 9 children.

He will be lovingly remembered by his 5 children, Kelly, Jeanine, David, James and Dale, and their families, including 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by the mother of his children, Mary Kelly; his 2nd wife, Audrey Kelly; and his 3rd wife, Jana Elederova.

He was also predeceased by his 4 older sisters and his 2 older brothers, most recently his dear brother, Joseph.

He is survived by his younger siblings, John (Kathleen McLaughlin) and Mary (Bill Boyd); and his many nieces and nephews. Paul graduated from Queen’s University in 1955 as a geological engineer.

He had a successful mining career, from mines in Ontario and Quebec, and travelling to Europe and Africa.

Paul later enjoyed being a driving instructor and then owned the school for a few years.

Paul was active in his parish of St. John the Evangelist during 50 years in Weston.

He loved to travel, hike and spend time with family. In spite of his battle with Alzheimer’s, he always had a smile for everyone.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist, 49 George St., Weston, on March 6th, at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer Society or his beloved St. John Parish is suggested.
