PENDER, George Lee Pender

Peacefully, at home, on Saturday, March 7th, 2026 at the age of 97.

George was the son of the late Michael and Adèle Pender. Beloved husband of the late Bernice (Kirk). He leaves behind his devoted sister Mary Rose, his loving children Stephen (Suzanne Mulder), Geoff (Suzanne Nadon) and Andrew (Niki Karachalios) his cherished grandchildren Taylor (Connor), Tristan (Stéphanie), Liam, Tatiana, Sienna, Lauren and Jaxx, and great grandchildren Lucy and Clark. Predeceased by his brother Dr. Charles Pender. Also, lovingly remembered by his many nephews and nieces, friends and other relatives.

George will be remembered for his deep love of family, his sense of humour, his strength and resilience. The family extends heartfelt thanks to his personal support workers and nurses, especially Charito, Maricel, Colon and Jeff for their care, compassion and dedication over the last few years.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Hulse, Playfair & McGarry Central Chapel, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Friday, March 13th. Funeral to follow at 11 am on Saturday, March 14th at St. Patrick’s Basilica, 281 Kent Street, Ottawa.
