STRETTON, Penelope ‘Ella’ (Thom) Stretton Obituary

STRETTON, Penelope Williamina ‘Ella’ (Thom) – Passed away peacefully after a short illness at the Welland Hospital on October 13, 2015 in her 94th year.

She will be sadly missed by her devoted husband Robert and her loving sister Ena, also by her niece Sandra (Stan) and her nephew Brian (Barbara) and their families. Predeceased by her brother Sandy and her nephews Donny and Colin.

Ella immigrated to Canada from Lonmay, Scotland in 1953 and was for many years employed at IBM in Toronto.  She and Bob moved to Silver Bay Rd., Port Colborne about 30 years ago, and then moved into Port Colborne 7 years ago, before settling in at Seasons First Avenue Retirement Community in Welland.

Ella will be sadly missed by her family and friends in Scotland, her great niece in England, and her many friends in the Port Colborne area.

Bob would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Seasons Retirement Home who looked after Ella so well and to Rick and Nancy Horne for their undivided care and support both to himself and to Ella.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to H.L. Cudney funeral home, 341 Main Street, Welland, Ontario.
