It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Donna Lea Pereira (Gibson) on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the age of 61.

Donna was the beloved wife of Joe Pereira, with whom she shared 33 wonderful years. They met while working together at what was once Consumers Glass, now better known as O.I Canada, and went on to build a beautiful life together. Proud and loving mother to Britteny (Brent Hoskins), and stepmother to Steven (Samantha). Cherished Nana to Haelynn, Laekyn, Nashlyn, Colton, Riley, and Connor. Her grandchildren were truly the light of her life. She adored spending time with them, especially making playdough creations with Haelynn, chasing after Laekyn’s giggles, and was filled with joy to meet her newest granddaughter Nashlyn, born just three weeks before her passing.

Born in Toronto and raised between there and Mississauga, Ontario, Donna grew up surrounded by the love of her siblings and cherished many childhood memories in Mississippi Station. She later began her own family in Brampton and eventually settled in Shelburne, where she built strong friendships and embraced the warmth of a small-town community.

Donna was a woman of strength, kindness, and quiet resilience. Despite facing some challenging health battles over the years, she lived a full and vibrant life. She retired early, allowing her to spend her days on her own terms, enjoying the gym, her travels, and most of all, time with her family. She was proud to witness her daughter marry and be present for the birth of each of her grandchildren.

Donna was the devoted daughter of Lorraine Gibson and the late Reg Gibson. She will be deeply missed by her siblings John (Angela), Debbie (Michael), and Steve (Carolyn), and lovingly remembered by her extended family, including her many in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbours. Her warmth, laughter, and presence will leave a lasting imprint on all who knew her.

A visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville, on Sunday, July 20th, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:30 pm in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in Donna’s memory in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at Island Lake Conservation Area, a living tribute to a life so lovingly lived.
