It is with a very broken heart that we announce the passing of Joanne Elizabeth Peterson, lovingly known as “Jo,” at the age of 64 at Brantford General Hospital. Jo was the cherished partner of Les G. Green for nearly 20 years and was deeply loved by all who knew her.

Predeceased by her parents John (1989) and Anna (2017) Patterson of Brantford, Joanne is survived by her brother Rod (Kathy), sisters Vicki and Chris, niece Holly, nephew Devon, great-nephew Arlo, and many extended family members and friends who adored her.

Jo was a gifted and compassionate healer, dedicating over 45 years to holistic and naturopathic practices. She was a Merit Certified Reflexologist from the International Institute of Reflexology in Florida, and studied at McMaster University, Mohawk College, and York University.

Passionate about cooking Italian dishes, painting nature scenes on glass, and interpreting dreams, Jo also enjoyed long seasonal drives, classic rock, Emmylou Harris, Neil Young, bluegrass, 80s hits, and listening to CKRZ 100.3 FM. Her love for animals was endless, and she shared special memories with Boss, Star, and Luke.

Jo’s warmth, kindness, and selflessness left a lasting impact on everyone around her. She was soft-spoken, loving, and always ready to help. Her partner, Les, recalls her daily saying, “I love you Baba,” to which he’d reply, “I love you too Dino.”

She will be forever missed by lifelong friends, high school classmates, prayer groups, family, and neighbors. Special thanks to the ICU team at BGH and to all friends and family who provided support, prayers, and love during Jo’s final days.

In accordance with her wishes, no service has or will take place. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Styres Funeral Home, Ohsweken.
