With heavy hearts, the family announces that following a rather brief illness, Esther passed away peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital with loved ones by her side on Saturday afternoon, September 20, 2025;

Esther Julia Pierunek of Arnprior was 83 years of age.

Beloved wife of the late Michael “Mickey” Pierunek.

Cherished companion of Jim Ferguson of Griffith.

Dearly loved mother of Debbie Pierunek and grandmother of April Peplinski (Darrin) and Timothy Gallagher.

Predeceased by a daughter, Susan Gallagher (late Tim). Nanny of Kolby and great-grandmother of Holden.

Dear sister of Mary Visutskie (late Ambrose), Bronis Lorbetskie (Marie), Theresa Pierunek (late Alex) and Dorthy Prince (late Clarence).

Predeceased by siblings: Annie Recoskie (late Sylvester), Martha Zilney (late Ambrose), Rosie Sutcliffe (late Bert), Bella Sotnyek (late John), Isadore Lorbetskie (Agnes) and Anthony Lorbetskie.

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Daughter of the late Peter and Annie (nee Pecarskie) Lorbetskie.

The family wish to extend heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Arnprior Hospital who provided such amazing care to Esther and the family during her stay there.

Your kindness and attention will not be forgotten.

Esther’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the

Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Esther’s life to be held at the Griffith and Matawatchan Recreation Centre (Lions Club), 25991 Highway 41, Griffith on Sunday, October 19^th from 1 to 4 p.m.

In Esther’s memory and in recognition of the care and services received, the family request donations be directed to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.
