PIPER, Larry George Piper
September 22, 1942 - November 28, 2025Peacefully passed away, in his 84th year, at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville after a courageous 5 year battle with cancer.
Piper will be greatly missed by his loving wife Virginia (Brown)
Loved Stepfather of Bobbi Ann (Jeff), Lorri (Jimmy) , and David (Lynette)
Loved Father of Jeff (Lynn), Guy (Loretta) and Lisa (Brian)
Piper was a gentle giant and will lovingly be remembered by his grandchildren Matt (Rebecca), Jeremy, Jenna (Mark), Evan (Rachel) , Sam (Samantha), Madison (Blair), Dalyn, Jacob, Rebecca (Dustin, Josh (Morgan), Morgan (Chris) and Nick (Makayla).
The ever growing bevy of 13 great grandchildren will forever miss “Piper”
He leaves behind his sister Dale (Don) and brother -in – law Kelvin. He was predeceased by parents George and Helen and his sisters Joan, Faye and Carolyne.
We know that he will be sadly missed by his many friends and brother-in – law Vic, as well as his large extended family of nieces and nephews.
Piper was born and raised in Bowmanville. After High School he did a 4 year apprenticeship at General Motors in Tool and Die, and continued his career there for 39 years, travelling for them around the world.
He played with the Bowmanville Electrons when he was young and was an avid bowler, his team winning a Canadian Championship in 1960. He was always busy fishing, hunting, golfing, travelling and , of course, visiting his favourite bars.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 4-8 pm at the Bowmanville Legion Branch 178, 109 King St., Bowmanville
