PLASTINO , Lynda Plastino
August 15, 2025
Our hearts are broken as we announce the passing of Lynda Darlene Plastino, age 75, on August 15, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Lynda is finally at peace now and reunited with her soulmate Frank.
Lynda was born to the late Robert & Jeannine Bagnall. She was the oldest of 8 siblings and beloved by all. She will be missed by her brothers and sisters Robert Jr., Patricia, Rick (Lisa), Jeff (Christine), and the late Carol (Shane) and the late Kevin.
She will be especially missed by her sister, best friend, “Pinky” Debbie Tremonte (Mike). Extra love and thanks go to Debbie for all her love, care and support that she provided to Lynda. Lynda will be lovingly greeted into heaven by her late brother-in-law Billy Tremonte.
Lynda was the cherished mother and best friend to her daughter Lorena (Tim). Frank would have been very proud of the care and devotion Lorena provided to her mom in his absence. Lynda will also be deeply missed by her son Michael (Krystle).
Nothing was more important to Lynda than her grandchildren. She didn’t need any opportunity to spoil them and loved spending time with them. Matthew, Colin, Mikey, Frankie, and Gordie will miss the presence in their lives of the best grandmother ever.
Lynda was loved by many nieces and nephews especially Pamela London (Dwayne). Lynda shared a special relationship with Pamela as she was also her God daughter. Pamela has always been very devoted and a strong advocate in helping to care for her Auntie. Lynda will also be dearly missed by her “Princess Pink” Rya London. Rya always loved to visit and help take care of her Aunt Lynda.
Lynda will be missed by many extended family members, but a special mention goes to her brother-in-law Carmen who has loved and supported her through her illness and the loss of her husband. Another extra special thank you goes to Lynda’s Best Buddy, “Pinky sister” Bonnie Legacy (Len). The devotion and care she gave to Lynda over their very long and special friendship was extraordinary.
Lynda began a career as a hairdresser and eventually owned her own business called Lori Lynns. She was very well liked and worked until a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis forced her into retirement. Lynda was known for her strong determination and sense of humor. She always had a smile for you and a curse word to share. Even in her darkest moments she was always brave and lived her life for her family. Her presence will be missed by all who knew her.
Special thanks go to Ontario Finnish Rest Home (MKK Unit B) for their care of Lynda when she could no longer live at home. Thanks to all the nurses, personal support workers and all other support staff at MKK who cared for Lynda and took the time to laugh and talk with her. The family would also like to give a special thank you to Dr. Sara White for all the care and respect she showed Lynda. Your kindness and compassion that you showed to Lynda in her final days was so appreciated by her family.
As per Lynda’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held later.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Algoma Autism Foundation or the Ontario Finnish Resthome Association – Mauno Kaihla Koti Fund in memory of Lynda would be greatly appreciated by the family.
