PODOLAK, Harriet Podolak

She was the daughter of the late Esther and Louis Goldstein and the sister of the late Pearl Kurtzer, all of Toronto.

Harriet was born and raised in Toronto and was a proud graduate of the University of Toronto (BA and B Ed.) at a time when most high school girls were being streamed into office jobs. She started her career as a high school teacher in Toronto and continued in Ottawa when her husband was offered a job with the Federal Government.

On her retirement, Harriet became a serious bridge player and an inveterate traveller. She and her family visited more than 30 countries across Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East.
