POWERS, Eleanor Mary Powers

It is with great sadness that the family of Eleanor Mary Powers (née Bulkowski) announces her passing at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday, March 27, 2025, in her 93rd year. Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late Robert John Powers (1998) and a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

She will be deeply missed by her children Robert (Dianne), the late Thomas, Joanne (Mike), Michael (Leslie), Donald (Cathy), and Paul (Kelly). Cherished Grandma of Jennifer (Paul), Catherine (Jonathan), Michael (Anna), Erin (Robbie), Victoria, Kristen (Kevin), Robert (Amanda), Christopher (Brittany), Jason, Jaimie, and Timothy (Evelyne). Great Grandma to Hayden, Hannah, Thomas, James, Audrey, Anistyn, Everlie, Lochlan, and Zoey. Eleanor’s memory will be lovingly carried forward by her extended family, many friends, and the caring community at Harwood Seniors Residence.

Known for her sense of humour, strong will, and unwavering faith, Eleanor remained thoughtful and concerned for others, even in her final days. She was a guiding light, a devoted mother, and a trusted friend to all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, ON, on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Timothy Parish, 21 Leith Hill Road, North York, Ontario, on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow at the church.

A committal service will be held later that afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, 600 Spring Gardens Road, Burlington, ON L7T 1S9.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Timothy Parish in Eleanor’s honour.
