PRICE, Merna Ruth Price

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23rd at Carveth Care Lodge, Gananoque.

Born on January 29, 1932, in Callander, ON. Merna was active in the Church and the community. She served in many capacities at Grace United. An avid Bridge player, Merna also pursued her creative side with China Painting. She started the Red Hat Society in Gananoque. Every summer, she and her husband, Don, would sail until they sold the boat and took up land sailing in their motorhome. After Don’s death Merna started a coffee group with some of her widow friends.

Merna is predeceased by her parents Roy and Frances; husband, Donald; daughter, Sharon; brothers Lysle, Bob and Brian.

Survived by her son Brian (Julie) and four grandsons; Jason, Jeffrey (Mikayla), Tyler and Myles and sisters, Shelby Ann (George) and Dorothy (Garnet); sisters-in-laws, Louise and Ella. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Merna’s life will be held on Saturday, September 27th at Tompkins Funeral Home at 2:00 pm. Visitation before the service at 1:00 pm and reception to follow the service.

Memorial donations are welcome to Grace United Church, Gananoque and the Gananoque Humane Society in Merna’s honour.
