It is with great sadness that the family of Denis Prieur announces his passing in Sudbury, Ontario, on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the age of 66. Denis passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Eugene and Janet Prieur (née Carrey), and the beloved husband of Lynne Prieur (née Charette).

Denis was the proud father of Ryan (Megan) and Kristopher (Isabelle), and a cherished grandfather to Addison, Elizabeth, Wyatt, Angeline, and Thomas. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings Brenda, Carmen, Donald (Louise), and predeceased brother Gilbert (Colette), and sister Jacqueline (Brent Thomas – predeceased). He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Denis bravely battled cancer for 19 months, a journey marked by his optimism, humour, and deep care for others. Married for 41 years, Denis and Lynne built a life rich in love, joy, and unwavering partnership. His family fondly recalls treasured memories from camping trips to cheering at sports events, and his ever-present sense of humour. A devoted family man and friend, Denis was known for his selflessness and generosity.

Denis enjoyed a 40-year career at Falconbridge (Glencore) and found peace at Portage Resort, where he loved boating, fishing, and relaxing by the fire. He was quick to help anyone in need and never failed to bring a smile to those around him.

As per his wishes, there will be no formal service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury and Crystal Crematorium.
