PRIMORAC, Rita Primorac
March 6, 1938 - July 5, 2025
Rita Primorac, born Rita Widmer in Luzern, Switzerland, on March 6, 1938, passed away at home on July 5, 2025, with family at her side.
She is missed terribly by her daughters Marina and Maya Primorac, sons-in-law Jamie Martin and Joshua Mitchell, and beloved granddaughters Zoe, Tessa, and Maya Martin. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 36 years, Emil Primorac; her parents Josef Widmer and Frieda Widmer-Huber; brothers Werner and Urs Widmer; brothers-in-law Darko Primorac, Jerry Ponikvar, Mel Melconian, and Vinko Frankovich; and companion George Hollingsworth.
Rita is survived by her brother Ruedi (Ruth) Widmer; brother-in-law Beras Primorac (Karen); sisters-in-law Romi Widmer, Evi Hinterkircher, Ljerka Ponikvar, Zdenka Melconian, Blazenka Primorac, and Pepi Orche; and 21 nieces and nephews. She will also be fondly remembered by long-time friends Carmen Della Valle, Mary Ann Eppert, Pam Perreault, Katherine Badali, Lisa Cafferty, Colleen McGrane, and Joe Jakubal.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at The Village at St. Clair nursing home and Sunrise Senior Living for their compassion and support.
In her memory, family and friends are invited to donate to the Alzheimer’s Association of Canada or a charity of their choice.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor. On Thursday, July 10, 2025, family and friends are invited to meet at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish after 2:00 p.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 3:00 p.m.
