With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gerry Procter on Friday, June 27th, 2025, in his 77th year, peacefully at home with his wife and family by his side.

Gerry is survived by his children Geoffrey (Lauren), Joy (Matt), and Jon (Brianne), and his beloved grandchildren Riley, Lewis, Maddie, Kenzie, Jack, Zeke, and Calli. He was the cherished husband to the late Margaret “Marg” (nee Weber, 2014). Gerry was also the beloved brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many.

Born in Brantford to Frank and Hilda Procter, Gerry was a passionate sportsman who loved playing hockey, baseball, and football. He became an exceptional golfer throughout his life, a skill he enjoyed well into his later years.

Gerry taught History and Physical Education at BCI, where he was a beloved coach and mentor, leading the Football and Track teams to countless city championships. He was known for his storytelling, which made his lessons and coaching memorable.

Gerry met the love of his life, Marg, at McMaster University, and together they raised three children and welcomed many cherished grandchildren. They also enjoyed travel, family gatherings, and many happy memories together.

Friends may call at the Ayr Chapel, Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 183 Northumberland St., Ayr, on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 1-4 p.m. at Knox United Church Fellowship Hall, with eulogies at 2:00 p.m. A family interment will follow at Ayr Cemetery.
