PROCTOR, John Richard Proctor

He passed away peacefully on Thursday January 1, 2026 at Marigold Hospice, after a brief illness.

Beloved husband to Shirley (predeceased). Dear Father of Brenda (Mark), Susan (Sid). Loving Poppa to Robert (Erin), Kurt (Katie), Heather (Wes), Scott (Hannah) and Sabrina (Shawn). Great grandfather to Payten, Brooklyn, Mason and Emma. Treasured brother of Allan (Barb), Debbie (Mark) and the late Brian. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents John and Catherine. He will be deeply missed by his best friend Blue.

After a successful career as a mechanic John enjoyed driving a school bus for another 20 years. He also enjoyed drinking his tea watching the birds in his backyard, gardening and watching the NFL. He also loved his yearly visits to Restoule lake, where he got to spend time with family and friends.

As per John’s wishes, a visitation will be held on Wednesday January 7, 2026 from 12-1pm at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division Street, Bowmanville.

Service will begin at 1pm in the Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Bowmanville Cemetery.
